Looking for a SourceDay alternative?
SourceDay is a real, established product. It's just built for a different buyer than the one SupplierPing serves. Here's the honest breakdown, not a takedown.
SourceDay's own public reviews are consistently positive about what it does for the buyer it's built for: a purchasing team with an ERP already in place (NetSuite, Syteline, and similar) that wants a dedicated collaboration portal layered on top of it.
The tradeoff that shows up repeatedly in that same feedback is supplier-side adoption. A platform that requires suppliers to log into a separate portal only works once enough of them actually do. Several public reviews note the same pattern: a meaningful share of suppliers keep communicating by email regardless, which means the buyer ends up watching two channels instead of one.
Where each one actually fits
SourceDay tends to fit
- Already running NetSuite, Syteline, or a similar ERP
- Large enough supplier base to justify onboarding them onto a portal
- Procurement team big enough to run that rollout
- Budget for a sales-quoted enterprise contract
SupplierPing tends to fit
- Tracking open orders in Excel, Sheets, or a lightweight system today
- Suppliers who reply to a normal email, not a portal invite
- A small team, sometimes one buyer, doing purchasing follow-up
- Self-serve pricing you can see and start on today, no sales call
The core difference
SupplierPing never asks a supplier to create an account, log into anything, or learn a new system. Follow-ups go out as a normal email from your own connected Gmail address. A supplier replies the same way they always have; you record the update in SupplierPing yourself, or paste their reply in and let it suggest the change. There's no portal to get suppliers to adopt, because there's no portal on their end at all.
That's a real limitation, not just a feature: SupplierPing doesn't give suppliers their own dashboard, and it doesn't integrate with an ERP. If that's what you need, SourceDay is a reasonable choice. If what you actually need is your open orders sorted by what's overdue and a drafted follow-up email ready to send, that's the specific job SupplierPing does.
